Marc Jacobs Spring 2011

Below are some highlights from Marc Jacobs' Spring 2011 collection, including a video of the show itself. There were 55 looks, however, I've only included 20. After the photos, there is a brief, yet precise description of the makeup look(s) created by Francois Nars. All in all, the show could be rated at a flat B. I love the vintage, seventies look, however, the intentional 'dirtiness' of some of the looks is hard to like.

The makeup for the show was designed by Francois Nars, the incredible man behind the NARS brand. Clearly, his inspiration came from the seventies; in a press statement he said, "The look is very reminiscent of Anjelica Huston in the 1970s -- bleached brows and deep eyes."Jacobs wanted to "mimic the colors of the collection but not matching exactly."

The products used:

1.) Orgasm Blush

2.) Night Porter eye shadow

3.) an olive-green color from the Nouveau Monde Duo eyeshadow palette

4.) for the lips: adobe-colored lips were a mix of Volga pure matte lipstick, African Queen lip liner and an eyeliner color called Mambo.
